For myself
Some projects exist because I wanted something that worked differently from the tools already available to me.
ABOUT / 01 The umbrella
KuroRyu is the name I use for the things I build — software, tools, experiments and interactive experiences that started because I wanted to solve something, learn something or see whether an idea could become real.
02 Origin
KuroRyu was never created around a business plan or a specific type of software.
It was simply the name I started putting on my own projects.
Over time, those projects stopped fitting into one category. A personal finance application ended up next to workflow tooling. Experiments turned into larger systems. A city-game idea became Kuro's City Quest.
Instead of inventing a separate identity for everything, KuroRyu became the place connecting all of it.
03 Why I build
Some projects exist because I wanted something that worked differently from the tools already available to me.
Some begin with recurring problems, inefficient workflows or situations where building a tool is more useful than accepting the existing process.
And some ideas are meant to leave my own desk entirely and become something other people can use, play or experience.
04 Approach
Technology should solve the problem, not become the reason the project exists.
I prefer a small system I understand over unnecessary frameworks, dependencies and architecture. Complexity should be earned by actual requirements.
Some remain private tools. Some become demos. Some turn into products. They do not need to follow the same path. Personal, internal, experimental and commercial work are all valid outcomes.
05 Behind KuroRyu
KuroRyu is built by Markus — better known online as Kaetokid
I started out in software development before gradually expanding into system administration, cloud infrastructure and automation. Since then, my projects have kept pulling me into new areas — from finance and game design to hardware, APIs and whatever else the next idea requires.
KuroRyu is where that work ends up.
06 Projects
From private tools to public experiences, the projects are the actual reason KuroRyu exists.
